Our brief from Bicester Town Council was to help with their refurbishment of Garth Park. Our role in this was to help restore three main features in the park:
- Play Area Railings.
- The Band Stand.
- Pioneer Bed.
Play Area Railings
The railings were in disrepair and were rusting. We prepared the railings thoroughly by removing loose paint and rubbing them down to give the best surface possible. We then applied Rustoleum Combi Colour paint to give a flat black finish to the railings.
The Band Stand
The council required a new coat of paint on the band stand. We rubbed down and removed any loose paint and applied an undercoat. This was followed by a top coat of Dulux Oxford Blue Gloss to the main framework. We also applied Gold Hammerite to the trims and decorative areas to keep the bandstand in line with existing design.
As a tribute to the Pioneer Regiment who were based in Bicester for many years, there is a large emblem set in a flower bed in the park. This had worn down and lost its colour. We restored and re painted the emblem with Rustoleum Combicolour.
